Case Study Brain & Spinal Cord Stent Assisted Coiling

Case Study Details

Aneurysm coiling gave a new lease of life to Mrs. Shanthi. Two surgeries were attempted which resulted in this big scar that you see in the picture.

She had an abnormal bulge in a blood vessel in the brain (Aneurysm) which in turn is very prone to rupture and death.

She was treated by the worlds most advanced technique wherein a metal tubular mesh was placed across the aneurysm (stent) and the aneurysm blocked with multiple small platinum coils.

Since the procedure is performed by a small pin hole puncture like an angiogram she did not have a third scar in the head. She was discharged a few days later.
